This is going to be one of the year’s best fight cards, and it is overshadowed by the long overdue return of the legendary ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey VS the very game Amanda Nunes.
Every single fight on this card is going to be an epic battle for sure, here are my predictions, along with what scenarios I think may come about:
Louis “Da Last Samurai” Smolka (11-2) v Ray “The Tasmanian Devil” Borg (9-2)
Flyweight bouts are always exciting and action packed.
Ray “The Tasmanian Devil” Borg by submission in the second round.
TJ Dillashaw (14-3) v John “Hands Of Stone” Lineker (29-7)
This bantamweight matchup is going to be a back and forth war to say the least.
John “Hands Of Stone” Lineker will take the win by way of knockout in the 3rd round.
Dominick “The Dominator” Cruz (C) (22-1) v Cody “No Love” Garbrandt (10-0)
Even though Cody “No Love” Garbrandt is on a compete tear, he has been on a dominant win streak and will most certainly make a great opponent for Dominick “The Dominator” Cruz. Stylistically it should be a little back and forth on the feet with a beautiful striking display, both fighters have great hands, even better they both have a ground game to be reckoned with.
Most likely this fight will go to the ground with a scramble that may get them Fight of the Year, and/or Submission of the Year, both Cruz and Garbrandt have great grappling skills which will be on full display. I believe Dominick “The Dominator” Cruz will retain his Bantamweight title and will be champion for 2017.
NOW we have our main event for that evening featuring:
Amanda “Lioness” Nunez (C) (13-4) v “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey (12-1)
I know this is going to be exciting, and brutal, as it’s Rondas return to action after more than a year being out of the octagon to face the impressive Amanda. Both of these ladies are fantastic athletes, Nunes having just beat Meisha Tate is not going to give her belt up easily, in steps Rousey, who is hungry to get her belt back. I think “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey is going to come back with a vengeance and do what the Rowdy one does best; strike with the champ a bit, take it to the ground and do her ever so famous arm bar and take back what was hers for so long, until she met Holly Holm that fateful night last November.
