UFC 211 Predictions #IntheGirlsCorner

UFC 211 this Saturday, May 13th, 2017 live from Dallas Texas, could be the fight card of the year, and you can watch the prelims on Fight Pass, the late prelims on FX, and the main card will be aired on PPV.

With two titles on the line, the men’s Heavyweight title gives us Stipe Miocic and Junior Dos Santos; they’ll face off in their rematch, while the women’s Strawweight division showcases Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs Jessica Andrade…it will be a war.

My main card predictions, are as follows:

Henry ‘The Messenger’ Cejudo (10-2) will face Sergio Pettis (15-2) in a very exciting Flyweight bout. Both of these fighters have impressive records and are pretty well rounded, it can go either way. I think Cejudo is going to take the win via split decision, coming off of two losses I’m sure he will be ready to take it.

Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar (20-5-1) takes on Yair ‘El Pantera’ Rodriguez (11-1) in this Featherweight bout. Who doesn’t want to see Frankie win in dominant fashion? I know I am hoping out for that, however my spidey senses are telling me Yair will pull out the W via TKO in the second round.

Damian Maia (24-6) vs Jorge ‘Gamebred’ Masvidal (32-11)

In this highly anticipated Welterweight fight; impressive records, table for two, or ‘veterans’ are among many words used to describe both Maia and Masvidal. Masvidal is going to win via TKO / KO in the second round.

Our Co-Main event for the evening features women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk (13-0) vs Jessica ‘Bate Estaca’ Andrade (16-5).

Both of these women have exceptional stand up with Joanna being an accomplished kick-boxer and Muay Thai champion, now training at American Top Team. With a plethora of champions I can’t see her  not having improved tenfold. Will Jessica’s stand-up game, stand up to Joanna’s or will Jessica’s jiu jitsu skills be enough to take the belt from Joanna? I think Andrade has what it takes for sure, but I also think it won’t be enough as Jedrzejczyk is a beast and her hand will be raised at the end of a five-round war, well hear “…and still” once more. Joanna by decision.

Our Main event features Champion Stipe Miocic (16-2) vs Junior ‘Cigano’ Dos Santos (18-4) for the Heavyweight title.

Miocic is on a tear since taking the belt from Fabricio Werdum. This will be a rematch like no other, Dos Santos is going to be looking to take the win in an epic battle after he won the first via unanimous decision on December 13th, 2014. Will history repeat itself and give us a new champion in Junior or will Stipe’s hand be raised again? I think Miocic is going to get his redemption dominantly, and etch out a unanimous decision if he doesn’t KO Dos Santos. Miocic gets the win.
