Fight Night 94 is going to send some fighters into contender talks while possibly putting others into the realm of ‘forgotten’.
Michael Johnson vs Gleison Tibau – UFC 168:
As part of a four-fight win streak that made a name for himself, Johnson defeated a gatekeeper named Gleison Tibau, a man who debuted in 2006 by getting punched out by Nick Diaz. 17 UFC fights later and he is usually what stands in the way of a up-and-coming fighter’s future. He didn’t stand in Michael Johnson’s way as you can see below:
Dustin Poirier vs Akira Corassani – TUF Nations (2014)
As mentioned in our preview, Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier has won seven of eight and four-in-a-row. This victory over Corassani set him up for a fight against The Notorious One, Conor McGregor.
We all know what happened with that…but Poirier has remained vigilant, as that is his only loss in a little over three years. This fight against the Swede took a little over five minutes to complete and earned Fight of the Night honours.
