Hey everyone this is Kerry Stellar, from In The Girls Corner, and I know UFC Fight Night is not only going to be a great fight card, for me to see BJ Penn back is going to be a nail biter, who isn’t excited when Joe Lauzon is fighting on a card?? I’ll get into that later!!
John Moraga 16-5-0 vs Sergio Pettis 14-2-0, in this Flyweight bout I think will go the distance with Sergio Pettis taking the win, however this should make for an exciting fight, both standing up and on the ground.
Court “The Crusher” McGee 19-5-0 vs Ben “Killa B” Saunders 20-7-2:
This Welterweight match-up is going to be a war of striking, both McGee and Saunders are fantastic strikers, and both have an impressive ground game to say the least. I think Court McGee (Ultimate Fighter Season 11 winner) will pull out a split decision win over Ben Saunders.
Joe Lauzon 26-13-0 vs Marvin Held 22-5-0:
The Lightweight bout will be an epic battle for sure, and may even land Joe Lauzon with another fight bonus for Fight of the Night, as he is tied for the most Fight of the Night win bonuses. As you can tell I have already picked who I think will win, and that is Joe Lauzon, coming off a split decision loss to Jim Miller, I am sure he is hungry to get back into the winning column, and as a long time fan of his I would sure like to see him get his hand raised. This isn’t to discredit Marvin Held who has a impressive record, and will make a very exciting fight for the fans to watch, who knows in the fight game anything can happen.
For our MAIN EVENT of the evening.
Yair “El Pantera” Rodriguez 9-1-0 vs BJ “The Prodigy” Penn 16-10-2
I am so excited and so nervous for BJ Penn, a true UFC MMA veteran with an impressive career, not to mention he will be facing Yair Rodriguez who only has one loss in his professional career. My heart wants to see Penn win, because who doesn’t want to see a BJ Penn fight, and who doesn’t want to see him come out victorious in dominant fashion.
However BJ’s last few fights have come at a loss, his last in 2014 against Frankie Edgar, and his draw to John Fitch in 2011, makes me think he probably won’t pull off a win. Yair is hungry to keep his win streak going since entering the UFC and wining TUF LATAM Season 1 featherweight, I can’t help but to see another impressive win for him in this fight, defeating the Legendary BJ Penn. When Yair Rodriguez does win this should definitely move him up in the Featherweight rankings while unfortunately this may spell the end for BJ Penn. If BJ Penn pulls this W off it will be HUGE for him.
