The last time we saw James ‘The Suplex Kid’ Clarke was after his Unanimous Decision victory over Alex Slicer at TKO 37: Rivals back in January. It was at that moment he cut a nearly WWE-style promo that stole the show in terms of mic skills, immediately prompting us to request an interview. It went a little something like:
“I just quit smoking like six weeks ago, this is how important it is to me guys, this is my life now. I’m going to get on a plane on Wednesday, go back to a training camp in Thailand; fuck yeah.”
“All I do is listen to Robin and John on TV all week and wonder when they are going to mention me…Rebel Alliance mother f****** let’s bring it.”
After this portion of the interview that likely gained Clarke 1,000 more fans, his next opponent, Jordan Graham arrived sporting a look comparable to that of Jack Gallagher mixed with an Amish, not that it’s a bad thing.
Graham (who will be making his pro debut) relished in his experience in Thailand, stating his fight is going to be a lot tougher than what had just been seen. Despite his boasting, Graham’s amateur record was 6-1 whilst Clarke sported a 13-2 amateur record before going pro.
Right now the fans think Clarke is going to take the win by a 55:45 ratio (via online voting) and I’m hoping that, despite having seen Graham recover from being on his back en route to a victory, James Clarke takes us down to suplex city which I believe will result in a second consecutive unanimous decision victory for Clarke.
James Clarke vs Jordan Graham airs Friday, April 7th at TKO 38 live on Fight Pass.
