Sean Strickland marked the second test for former kickboxing champion Alex Pereira in the UFC. Looking to build on his impressive debut against Bruno Silva, Pereira took on Strickland at UFC 276 in July 2022.
Despite having the potential to test the dangerous striker in all aspects of mixed martial arts, Strickland stood in the centre of the octagon and traded blows with Pereira.
A little over two minutes into the fight, Pereira unleashed his signature left hand, knocking Strickland to the canvas. The impressive victory over a highly ranked opponent propelled Pereira to a title shot against middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
